‘Straight’ is a funny story about Pinu, who struggles with himself, his fears and complexes to come out as straight and find himself a love story. His biggest fear is to be laughed at by people. An ever-repeating phenomenon with him.
In the midst of central London, a successful Indian restaurant called ‘Gaylord’ is run by Pinu. A simple soul at heart, Pinu has many complexes a special one being that he is a virgin and has experienced no intimate relationship with a woman. Do look for voluptuous and bootylicious and vibrant Gul Panag as she mind-boggles with our poor Pinnu. One fine day, Pinu is thrown in to a daze as he walks away from the restaurant he has discovered a totally new fear? He might be Gay!!

A struggling actor comes from Delhi to Bombay and enters the Hindi film industry. The movie follows the trials and tribulations of two main characters (Farhan and Konkona) who are after the same goals Bollywood Stardom. Along the way they come across a series of characters and personalities who form the crux of the industry. Another well crafted parallel story line is the point of view of a troubled Producer (Rishi Kapoor) and obstacles he needs to go through to get a bunch of ego’s and personalities together.The movie also gives us an insight into what goes behind the finished item -- namely the unsung heroes in the industry. The music is pretty good and well placed in the film.

Billu or Billu Barber
A remake of the Malayalam film Kadha Parayumbol, Billu or Billu Barber is the story of a small town man, Billu (Irrfan Khan) who mentions to his family that he was once a friend of superstar; Sahir Khan (Shahrukh Khan). Sahir Khan happens to come to the village to shoot a film and Billu’s children spread the rumor that their father is his childhood friend. The villagers, on hearing their Billu could be their ticket to meeting the star, shower him with gifts and promises on condition Billu make contact for them. Billu is embarrassed by his poverty and doesn’t want to impose, but everyone works themselves up so he’s forced to make several ill-fated attempts at contacting the star while he’s shooting just outside the village. But it’s the school principal who, after threatening to expel Billu’s children for non-payment of fees, has a turnaround when she believes Billu is able to get the star to appear at a school function and speak to the children. She goes to Sahir herself and requests his presence at the function for the children.
